Heart to Heart

He anointed my heart
With olive oil, again,
Touched each wound
With his fair hand, and
Poured me full of affectionate peace,
Kissed each ugly fear
With kind acceptance,
And cradled me in his love.

And just as tenderly
As the first

Time that he tended me,
Was the second,
And the third,
And this has surely mended me
Again...and again...and again.
