I wander the garden on a cloudy day.
A wistful breeze blows the weeds apart,
And I spy colorful fruit just ripe for me.
I gather six black cherry tomatoes and a small sweet pepper,
Two bright yellow pear tomatoes
And a baby cucumber.
It's more than this lazy gardener needs
On a day like today,
When I'm thinking of you,
And so thankful for the scripture that says,
'He who looks back
Ain't fit for a plow.'
