A butterfly tenants in the loft apartment next to mine.
I never hear a peep from there except her windchime,
But the landlord chicken comes stumping up the stairs
In his black combat boots and tight white underwear,
And he demands the rent from her as he does everyone,
But he should let her lease for free
For what she does for everyone she does for me.
Butterfly butterfly
Please fly away to safety.
Laugh and live another day
Far away from the evil chicken.
The other tenants and I would gladly pay
The butterfly's rent
To have her stay,
For she is delicately beautiful
And makes us smile with her haphazard ways,
But the evil landlord chicken has designs,
And they don't allow for her mirrored prism'd butt
To get behind on rent,
Or ahead of him in brains.
He knows she won't taste very good.
Nothing orange ever does.
But he will eat her just the same,
And complain when she gives him a gut ache.
Butterfly butterfly
Please fly away to safety.
Laugh and live another day
Far away from the evil chicken.
Some will say Butterfly must pay
Her way like everyone else is.
"There's no free lunch!"
The chicken gritches through her door,
But butterfly has flown
Out her window
Toward the sun,
And we won't see her anymore.
