If we must worship something
Let us worship the sun
In whom all magnificent complications
Exist as One
A great simple majesty
The incomprehensible feat
That it shines both night and day
At any time
Along one’s way
One may look
And see the Sun
(And if not, one may see the glorious rain)
But we must know behind that cloud
A power so clear
Behind the shower of life bearing streams
The sun is shining
Brilliant beams of desirable light
And even at night
If one awakens
From a dream
And whether doubt or fright creep near
One can close one’s eyes and see
So crystal clear
The sun shines still
The sun never turns its back on you
Or on the earth
Or on the moons
Or any of its planets dear
It is only ever us
That turn away
But whether night
Or whether day
The unstoppable mine of golden rays
The mighty sun
Does shine
