Be Nice

We are ugly stepsisters all,
Who try to force that glassy slipper,
Who think the grass is so much greener
There on the other side.
We won't so much as lift a finger
To walk a mile in their moccasins,
Or spend a day in their hide.

But, even for those who are wont to try,
It's hard to have real empathy.
Too great the diverse humanity
To step in the same stream twice,
And this is why we cannot judge,
Or understand enough
To hold a grudge,
And so, should just be nice.
