I wanted to have those fluffy shoes

That are in style these days.

But I didn’t have the money,

And so I got the bright idea

To stick my feet in boiling oil.

And now, puffy swollen blisters 

Ensconce my burning feet.

I can’t walk to go anywhere,

And only now I realize,

I never needed any shoes!
