We Share One Heart ❤️
Waves crash upon the gray,
The rocks of life
That stay up on the shore.
Waters surge
And ask for more.
The boulders don’t give way.
But the sands beneath are shifting
With every breaking day,
With every breaking wave that comes their way.
If the water only knew
That nothing really can break it in two,
Because it reaffirms its place
And rolls back in
To form another wave.
The sands are shifting everyday,
Making an art form so very great
That it can only be seen from space.
And me? I’m here. I forget to row,
So happily adrift in the undertow of love,
Watching the beautiful waves, the strand,
The dull gray rocks,
And the shimmering, sifting sands.
I see that altogether they
Are beautiful and do their parts,
And yet, so altogether beautifully,
They share one heart.
