The kid behind the counter says,
"I'm sorry this is taking so long."
"No worries," I reply, and lean casually on a partition.
The world is hustling and bustling by me
While I wait patiently for some French fries, light on the salt.
Another kid apologetically hands me a greasy paper sack
Filled with fried potatoes and a couple of ketchup packets.
Filled with fried potatoes and a couple of ketchup packets.
But these kids have no idea
That this is the only 3 minutes of peace
I may have all day.
It's definitely the only time I'll get exactly what I'm asking for,
And most assuredly the only apology I'll get all year.
