I'm riding a camel through Cairo,
Keeping pace with the taxi and bus.
My skirts are gathered around me.
My veil is mussed,
And I'm riding a camel through Cairo
At night.
If you could find me in the desert
Along with the thieves
Who rob the graves by digging
Deep slanted holes
To find treasures,
You would think me a sight,
For I'm riding a camel through Cairo
At night.
I learned my skills by stealing love
Through glances
And empathy,
Delusion, telepathy,
And impatient dances in my mind
That end in me running away to Cairo,
Everyday,
And fleeing from Cairo,
Every night, on an elusive camel's back.
