You live by the sword,
You die by the sword.
You live by sweetness,
Someone will kill you with kindness.
Some trees bloom
Before they get leaves.
They shed their fragrance
In the heat of the day.
This morning is cool,
But I still smell you,
So lovely.
Can you smell me,
My loving tree?
I'll shed for you.
You shed for me,
Until our trunks and branches
Are bare and
It looks like winter is here again.
But within,
Leaves begin to bud all over,
And soon they will open and cover us,
With a summer shimmer of green,
And we know, love's fruits are coming.
For we live by love,
And we will die by it.
