I walked by your house today
In the early midnight blue,
Remembering how we used to be
And how it felt to be with you,
And so I took a little detour
Down your lane and to the back.
I peeked into your window there
And saw you sleeping so relaxed.
I tried the door and it was open,
So I stood there in your room,
Walked then over to be so near you,
Could smell the musk and faint cologne.
I leaned to kiss your drowsing lips.
I lay my body over yours—
Embraced your heart, and squeezed your shoulders,
Rubbing my breasts on your solid torso.
Then I tiptoed from your cabin,
Made my way at the break of dawn.
Hearing the coyotes dying howls,
I thought I heard your mother say,
"Someone just walked across my grave."
In the early midnight blue,
Remembering how we used to be
And how it felt to be with you,
And so I took a little detour
Down your lane and to the back.
I peeked into your window there
And saw you sleeping so relaxed.
I tried the door and it was open,
So I stood there in your room,
Walked then over to be so near you,
Could smell the musk and faint cologne.

Rubbing my breasts on your solid torso.

Made my way at the break of dawn.

I thought I heard your mother say,
"Someone just walked across my grave."
