My feet know the trail so well—
The lane between my little hut
And the village there below.
I walk in the dark before dawn.
Daybreak comes and exposes scattered clouds,
(And their plans to rain on my day.)
The Sun tells me to watch out for them,
But suddenly I feel the convincing kisses
Tenderly touch my hands, my wrists,
All the way up the antibrachium, behind my shoulder.
Now I feel a flicker of love on the back of my knee,
Then coming around it grazes my thigh, caressing gently.
The Sun peeks through to expose me now,
Divulges the beginning of the secret tryst.
The light of it reveals the nebulous lip prints,
All over me!
Diamonds of dew adorning my skin
And crowning my head quicksilver—
The furtive gifts the universe has bestowed this morning!
