An integer is a number

That's happy to be a number.

It's whole and quite complete.

It's aware that there is always x + 1,

And x, minus the same.

So it feels its unique value

While quite ensconced between

It's colleagues, who are also numbers,

And its negatives,

The mysterious inverses,

Which are also integers,

And happy to be whole.

And I am not a number,

But I've taken one,

And wait, almost whole,

Here, in the driver's license testing

And its integral waiting room.
