In the blink of a smile
I saw my folly.,
My antiquated dress and out of date hair-do.
The religion I spouted
Was out of commission.

One smile did more for me
Than twenty seminaries
And a degree in psychology.
History failed me.
I saw a flash of teeth, and into the future,
But more importantly,
I saw now,
And tore my clothes.

I turned around,
And through my tears,
I saw one apricot still on the tree.
I picked it, and I ate it.
It's warm juices run down my face,
And I know deeply,
I'm here where I belong,
And so, I smile,
And hope my smile, too, is life-changing.
