Sometimes even the spring leaves fall.
After a night of ardent rain and darkness,
They have covered the sidewalk
Where I try to go.
And now, as the chapel bell rings,
The morning wind still drops them vaguely.

The world is full of love and grace.
Take my chin in your hand.
Turn my face  to see your smile.
Sing me your healing songs of love.
Fill my heart with harmonies.

Laugh with me as the leaves spill down around us,
Spring, summer, winter, fall.
Don't tell me what to do.
And neither will I force you to plummet
From your high place,
To the common grounds of love
Down here with me.
