Snow comes quietly
Without a trumpet,
And does what it was born to do.
Elegantly it spreads a carpet,
And suddenly there is a hush.
Somehow you know you've been invited
To lie down on the wooly throw,
And forget about work,
And everything else,
And be seduced by the snow.

And when she rolls you,
And she will,
Even her fever will feel like a chill at first,
But her shudders will flutter you senseless,
And senselessly you will know,
As a gnostic does,
By initiation,
That love comes quietly.
Love never has to boast or brag,
But you will not be able to resist
Love, or the snow, and the alluring shag carpet she spreads.
