Burnt Offerings

How did breakfast go from raw to burned?
I just sat down for a second to read a few poems
That my friends posted here.
(And about 26 messages)
Oh see! You wouldn’t want to live with me.
I am not a good cook.
But! I have yet to ruin a PB & J!
So if you are good with that,
We could live on love
And poetry.

And now look,
I’ve burned supper too?
The noodles went from al dente
To all gummay.
Oh well.
Another burnt offering
To Lucretius, Ovid,
And especially you,
Horace.

But Sappho was here
Telling me about her
Little bird,
And it was just really
Fascinating.
