I Wake Up Frozen

I wake up frozen,
Unable to move.
My limbs are stiff and brittle.
I was sleeping in the dew
When hoar frost crept me over.
A knock comes tapping at my ear,
“Door of my soul, please open!
Allow my healer to rescue me
From this cold paralysis.”

A particle beam of golden light
Shines on my icy skin.
The frost begins to liquefy
Into dew again.
And now the beam has penetrated
My cold, unfeeling heart,
And shines completely thru my soul—
Magnified, brilliant light.
And every hue and every shade
Fans out along the spectrum.
I'm able to rise up into it and stretch
And move in the warmness of the Day.

Then I smell the crushed and rumpled blossoms,
Fragrant, tho still frozen, where I just lay,
And I fall to my knees grasping the petals,
And pulling them to my face.
I breathe their delightful offering
And say a prayer for you.
